Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 2.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 12.98% or 0.037 points to trade at 0.322 at the close. Meanwhile, Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) added 7.69% or 0.005 points to end at 0.070 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 6.67% or 0.009 points to 0.144 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 9.26% or 0.06 points to trade at 0.55 at the close. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) declined 7.36% or 0.12 points to end at 1.51 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was down 3.15% or 0.19 points to 5.84.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 43 to 28 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1171.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.22% or 0.73 to hit $58.97 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.58 to trade at $62.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1143, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7081.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 95.77.
