Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.61% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 14.24% or 0.084 points to trade at 0.674 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 9.04% or 0.015 points to end at 0.181 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 3.57% or 0.060 points to 1.740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which fell 3.15% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.338 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 1.19% or 0.15 points to end at 12.45 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) was down 1.17% or 0.24 points to 20.36.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 66 to 32 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.81% or 9.85 to $1207.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.92% or 0.42 to hit $45.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.36 to trade at $46.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.0572, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8585.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 101.51.
