Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 17.95% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.138 at the close. Meanwhile, Elgeka (AT:ELGr) added 9.95% or 0.021 points to end at 0.232 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 9.52% or 1.00 points to 11.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which fell 8.70% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.315 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 5.37% or 0.021 points to end at 0.370 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) was down 4.83% or 0.007 points to 0.138.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 31 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 4.20 to $1103.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.59% or 0.70 to hit $44.70 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $47.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1266, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.7338.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 95.78.
