Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.31% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 5.63% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 5.60% or 0.280 points to end at 5.280 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intralot (AT:INLr), which fell 7.35% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 4.18% or 0.020 points to end at 0.459 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was down 4.17% or 0.150 points to 3.450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 49 to 33 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.77% or 9.65 to $1261.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.91% or 1.45 to hit $51.26 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.58% or 1.34 to trade at $53.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1154, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.9005.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 96.80.
