Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 9.38% or 0.2100 points to trade at 2.4500 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 8.73% or 0.040 points to end at 0.498 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 7.27% or 0.020 points to 0.264 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which fell 4.91% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.581 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 4.35% or 0.060 points to end at 1.320 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) was down 3.92% or 0.100 points to 2.450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 41 to 40 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) fell to all time lows; falling 4.91% or 0.030 to 0.581.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.70% or 9.60 to $1357.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.01% or 0.48 to hit $46.95 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.53 to trade at $48.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1064, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8550.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 96.26.
