Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Telecoms and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 10.00% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.121 at the close. Meanwhile, Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 9.36% or 0.061 points to end at 0.717 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 5.52% or 0.180 points to 3.440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which fell 9.74% or 0.2600 points to trade at 2.4100 at the close. Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr) declined 1.83% or 0.390 points to end at 20.950 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) was down 1.49% or 0.030 points to 1.990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 29 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.27% or 3.65 to $1350.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.52% or 0.65 to hit $42.12 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.57 to trade at $44.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1164, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8589.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 95.70.
