Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Household, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 6.25% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.119 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 5.48% or 0.017 points to end at 0.330 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 5.35% or 0.016 points to 0.315 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 8.70% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.1880 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 6.40% or 0.011 points to end at 0.161 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was down 5.43% or 0.250 points to 4.350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 52 to 36 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.28% or 3.65 to $1323.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.82% or 0.91 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.93% or 0.99 to trade at $50.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1105, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.8370.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 95.97.
