Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.68% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.77% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.206 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 6.99% or 0.013 points to end at 0.199 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) was up 6.25% or 0.040 points to 0.680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which fell 5.35% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.407 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 4.66% or 0.2200 points to end at 4.5000 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was down 3.47% or 0.050 points to 1.390.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 38 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.44 to $1244.26 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.95% or 1.31 to hit $43.12 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.66% or 1.25 to trade at $45.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1126, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.50.
