Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Household sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 11.46% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.389 at the close. Meanwhile, Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) added 5.06% or 0.09 points to end at 1.87 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 4.59% or 0.100 points to 2.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which fell 3.65% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 3.38% or 0.05 points to end at 1.43 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) was down 3.38% or 0.0500 points to 1.4300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 33 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) rose to 5-year highs; up 5.06% or 0.09 to 1.87.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.50% or 6.35 to $1280.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.73% or 0.35 to hit $48.07 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.23 to trade at $49.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.7832.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.39.
