Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Basic Resources and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 9.09% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.108 at the close. Meanwhile, J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 8.82% or 0.030 points to end at 0.370 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 7.13% or 0.310 points to 4.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which fell 4.97% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.153 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 4.51% or 0.042 points to end at 0.890 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 4.00% or 0.005 points to 0.120.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 48 to 44 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) fell to all time lows; down 4.00% or 0.005 to 0.120.
Gold for August delivery was up 1.34% or 17.65 to $1338.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.35 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.05 to trade at $49.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.8392.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.64.
