Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Travel and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.38% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Sidenor (AT:SID), which rose 29.49% or 0.207 points to trade at 0.909 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 9.43% or 0.023 points to end at 0.267 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) was up 8.59% or 0.034 points to 0.430 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr), which fell 6.54% or 1.25 points to trade at 17.87 at the close. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) declined 5.52% or 0.08 points to end at 1.37 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was down 3.51% or 0.03 points to 0.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 45 to 31 and 1 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.18% or 13.90 to $1188.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.57% or 0.34 to hit $58.81 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.27 to trade at $66.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1161, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.7382.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 95.54.
