Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Construction and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.37% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr), which rose 9.46% or 0.1400 points to trade at 1.6200 at the close. Meanwhile, Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) added 7.05% or 0.11 points to end at 1.67 and Titan Cement (AT:TTNr) was up 5.49% or 0.960 points to 18.460 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 5.05% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.094 at the close. A.S. Company (AT:ASCr) declined 4.43% or 0.014 points to end at 0.302 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 4.43% or 0.007 points to 0.151.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 52 to 36 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in A.S. Company (AT:ASCr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.43% or 0.014 to 0.302.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.20% or 2.50 to $1256.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.12% or 0.05 to hit $42.52 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.17 to trade at $44.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1336, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 94.19.
