Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Travel and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 9.37% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.105 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 6.25% or 0.010 points to end at 0.170 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 4.88% or 0.50 points to 10.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which fell 7.22% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.090 at the close. Dromeas (AT:DROr) declined 6.92% or 0.009 points to end at 0.121 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) was down 6.51% or 0.11 points to 1.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 42 to 38 and 2 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.17% or 2.00 to $1187.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.34% or 0.65 to hit $48.03 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.98% or 1.11 to trade at $55.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.0741, while EUR/GBP fell 1.13% to 0.7233.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 98.69.
