Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Household, Food and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.44% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.167 at the close. Meanwhile, J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 4.89% or 0.023 points to end at 0.485 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was up 4.58% or 0.230 points to 5.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which fell 8.84% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.196 at the close. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 4.26% or 0.002 points to end at 0.045 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 3.92% or 0.004 points to 0.098.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 47 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.95% or 11.35 to $1186.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.12% or 1.12 to hit $53.87 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.36% or 1.30 to trade at $56.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.0667, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8484.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 100.66.
