Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Travel and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 5.04% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.125 at the close. Meanwhile, Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) added 4.94% or 0.0400 points to end at 0.8500 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was up 3.32% or 0.245 points to 7.635 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr), which fell 9.58% or 0.68 points to trade at 6.42 at the close. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 6.25% or 0.280 points to end at 4.200 and Reds (AT:CAMr) was down 4.02% or 0.013 points to 0.310.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 54 to 45 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.65 to $1318.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.68% or 0.30 to hit $44.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.10 to trade at $46.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1168, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8621.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.90.
