Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Insurance and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 18.25% or 0.071 points to trade at 0.460 at the close. Meanwhile, Iaso (AT:IASr) added 6.00% or 0.030 points to end at 0.530 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 4.35% or 0.100 points to 2.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 5.43% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.122 at the close. Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) declined 4.29% or 0.030 points to end at 0.670 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was down 4.24% or 0.007 points to 0.157.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 52 to 36 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.36% or 4.65 to $1272.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.31 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.05 to trade at $49.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1270, while EUR/GBP fell 1.41% to 0.7713.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 94.75.
