Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Household and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which rose 4.85% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 4.73% or 0.070 points to end at 1.550 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 4.51% or 0.600 points to 13.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which fell 3.03% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.288 at the close. Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) declined 2.33% or 0.035 points to end at 1.465 and Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) was down 1.51% or 0.16 points to 10.44.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 66 to 44 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.80 to $1297.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.44% or 0.95 to hit $64.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.72% or 1.32 to trade at $75.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1694, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.01.
