Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.12%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were AXA SA (PA:AXAF), which rose 1.07% or 0.21 points to trade at 19.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) added 0.83% or 0.28 points to end at 33.34 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) was up 0.82% or 0.41 points to 49.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Klepierre (PA:LOIM), which fell 3.56% or 1.52 points to trade at 41.15 at the close. Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) declined 3.37% or 1.61 points to end at 46.31 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was down 3.09% or 0.172 points to 5.395.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis (PA:RUBF) which rose 7.66% to 80.53, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was up 3.15% to settle at 5.242 and SES (PA:SESFd) which gained 1.84% to close at 22.15.
The worst performers were Klepierre (PA:LOIM) which was down 3.56% to 41.15 in late trade, Gecina Nom. (PA:GFCP) which lost 3.44% to settle at 136.20 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) which was down 3.37% to 46.31 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 390 to 269 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.82% or 0.41 to 49.74. Shares in Rubis (PA:RUBF) rose to all time highs; gaining 7.66% or 5.73 to 80.53.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.16% to 16.54.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.43% or 5.75 to $1335.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.83% or 1.35 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.16% or 1.58 to trade at $48.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1212, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8454.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 95.45.
