Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.24%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale (PA:SOGN), which rose 2.13% or 0.99 points to trade at 47.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 2.02% or 0.250 points to end at 12.645 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 1.76% or 1.07 points to 61.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 1.91% or 4.15 points to trade at 213.25 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 1.83% or 0.147 points to end at 7.888 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 1.40% or 1.55 points to 109.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexans (PA:NEXS) which rose 4.31% to 49.03, Numericable SFR SA (PA:SFRGR) which was up 4.09% to settle at 29.250 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which gained 4.02% to close at 29.220.
The worst performers were Lagardere S.C.A. (PA:LAGA) which was down 2.72% to 26.11 in late trade, Amundi SA (PA:AMUN) which lost 2.48% to settle at 54.95 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) which was down 1.91% to 213.25 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 342 to 272 and 107 ended unchanged.
Shares in Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.02% or 0.250 to 12.645.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 584.38% to 2.94.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.26% or 3.15 to $1200.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.03% or 0.51 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.11% or 0.58 to trade at $51.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.89% to 1.0670, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 101.41.
