Investing.com – Denmark stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 rose 1.14% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were Nordea Bank AB (CO:NDA), which rose 3.39% or 1.95 points to trade at 59.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Danske Bank A/S (CO:DANSKE) added 2.50% or 4.4 points to end at 180.7 and A.P. Moller - Maersk A (CO:MAERSKa) was up 2.12% or 170 points to 8190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TDC A/S (CO:TDC), which fell 0.63% or 0.22 points to trade at 34.92 at the close. Novozymes A/S B (CO:NZYMb) declined 0.09% or 0.3 points to end at 330.5 and Genmab (CO:GEN) was down 0.09% or 1.0 points to 1159.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange by 73 to 34 and 22 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.90% or 0.41 to $45.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.33% or 0.62 to hit $47.28 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.05% or 14.05 to trade at $1318.25 a troy ounce.
USD/DKK was up 0.17% to 6.7609, while EUR/DKK rose 0.00% to 7.4394.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 97.20.
