Investing.com – Cyber Monday logged its largest online shopping day ever, according to industry data released on Tuesday.
Sales online on Cyber Monday increased by a whopping 12.1% to a record $3.45 billion in the U.S., according to data by Adobe Digital Insights (ADI).
ADI noted that consumers are becoming more and more comfortable shopping online and said that 27 out of 28 days up to yesterday in November have resulted in over $1 billion in revenue.
The Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday online sales grew 15.2% on the year to $12.8 billion.
That compared to total online growth of 7.6% in the first 28 days of this month to $39.97 billion.
As of Monday, analysts pointed to Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT), Best Buy Co Inc (NYSE:BBY) and Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) as the Thanksgiving weekend winners as shoppers splurged on electronics such as ultra-HD TVs and gaming consoles including Sony's PlayStation 4.
