Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Real Estate and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 3.98%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4), which rose 9.09% or 0.400 points to trade at 4.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) added 9.02% or 0.35 points to end at 4.23 and Vale SA (SA:VALE5) was up 8.24% or 1.69 points to 22.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5), which fell 1.41% or 0.15 points to trade at 10.50 at the close. Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) declined 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 27.54 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 24.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 292 to 108 and 27 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.50% to 36.78.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.80% or 23.45 to $1281.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.86% or 0.82 to hit $44.89 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.87% or 3.19 to trade at $174.12 .
USD/BRL was down 0.99% to 3.2016, while EUR/BRL fell 1.82% to 3.5366.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.83% at 97.74.
