Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Electric Power, Real Estate and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4), which rose 2.68% or 0.20 points to trade at 7.65 at the close. Meanwhile, EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 2.25% or 0.21 points to end at 9.53 and Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) was up 2.09% or 0.47 points to 23.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which fell 3.06% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.60 at the close. Smiles ON (SA:SMLE3) declined 1.78% or 1.10 points to end at 60.62 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was down 1.74% or 0.25 points to 14.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 220 to 128 and 42 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.05% to 37.69.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.85% or 10.74 to $1277.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.05% or 0.51 to hit $47.85 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.91% or 2.44 to trade at $125.28 .
USD/BRL was up 0.04% to 3.2508, while EUR/BRL rose 0.68% to 3.6684.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 96.61.
