Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.13% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 3.80% or 0.78 points to trade at 21.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) added 3.69% or 0.32 points to end at 9.00 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was up 3.33% or 0.32 points to 9.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP - Energias do Brasil SA (SA:ENBR3), which fell 4.51% or 0.64 points to trade at 13.56 at the close. RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) declined 3.00% or 0.39 points to end at 12.60 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) was down 2.48% or 2.24 points to 88.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 235 to 196 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.80% or 0.78 to 21.30.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.61% to 29.30.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.10% or 1.30 to $1317.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.24% or 1.35 to hit $61.72 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.26% or 1.64 to trade at $128.43 .
USD/BRL was down 0.69% to 3.2365, while EUR/BRL fell 0.99% to 3.8906.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 91.84.
