Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.36%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 0.20% or 0.25 points to trade at 124.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 0.09% or 0.09 points to end at 92.82 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 107.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which fell 2.16% or 0.235 points to trade at 10.630 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.11% or 0.975 points to end at 45.335 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 1.84% or 2.05 points to 109.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 86 to 55 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.59% or 7.30 to $1235.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.60% or 0.23 to hit $38.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.35 to trade at $40.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1388, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.7916.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 94.52.
