Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 0.63% or 0.14 points to trade at 21.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore NV (BR:UMI) fell 0.07% or 0.04 points to end at 53.37 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 0.13% or 0.15 points to 111.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ageas (BR:AGES), which fell 2.72% or 0.845 points to trade at 30.205 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.69% or 0.71 points to end at 41.64 and Elia (BR:ELI) was down 1.63% or 0.770 points to 46.505.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 43 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.55 to $1325.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.58% or 0.27 to hit $47.04 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.38 to trade at $49.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8553.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 94.75.
