Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 1.62% or 0.76 points to trade at 47.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.34% or 0.33 points to end at 24.95 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.29% or 1.30 points to 102.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 2.54% or 1.480 points to trade at 56.900 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.95% or 0.95 points to end at 47.80 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was down 1.28% or 1.60 points to 123.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 78 to 69 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.29% or 3.55 to $1225.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 4.69% or 2.03 to hit $45.35 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 4.25% or 1.89 to trade at $46.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0727, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8639.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 100.19.
