Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.72% or 0.66 points to trade at 38.70 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:ING) added 0.84% or 0.085 points to end at 10.200 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.39% or 0.180 points to 46.055 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which fell 1.57% or 0.44 points to trade at 27.52 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.13% or 0.32 points to end at 28.00 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 1.04% or 0.45 points to 42.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 85 to 49 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Proximus NV (BR:PROX) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.57% or 0.44 to 27.52.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.86% or 23.70 to $1296.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.90% or 0.84 to hit $45.16 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 0.86 to trade at $45.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1427, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.7912.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 93.64.
