Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 4.68% or 0.61 points to trade at 13.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 1.23% or 1.00 points to end at 82.00 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.33% or 0.200 points to 61.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 3.32% or 0.66 points to trade at 19.24 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 2.01% or 2.30 points to end at 112.40 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was down 1.87% or 0.90 points to 47.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 79 to 34 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.80% or 9.70 to $1197.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.20% or 0.14 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $78.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1567, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.9017.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 95.49.
