FRANKFURT, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Shares in German solar company Q-Cells rose on Wednesday amid talk that engineering conglomerate Siemens might be considering bidding for the company to increase its presence in the solar energy production cycle.
Siemens declined to comment on the market talk, Q-Cells was not available for immediate comment.
"I've heard talk that Siemens might by willing to bid 17 euros per share for Q-Cells," said a Frankfurt-based trader.
The trader said the rumour was similar to other recent market talk surrounding Siemens that it might want to bid for a solar energy specialist.
At 1006 GMT, shares in Q-Cells were 3.2 percent higher at 13.31 euros, making them the second biggest gainers among German tech stocks
