Dropping 0.9 percent on the LME, the spot price of nickel was the biggest mover on April 5, 2013, closing at $16,035 per metric ton. The 3-month price of nickel weakened by 0.9 percent on the LME, settling at $16,100 per metric ton.
The cash price of primary Indian nickel fell 0.3 percent.
Chinese stainless steel prices closed flat for the day. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese ferro-chrome remained essentially flat. The price of Chinese ferro-moly held steady. The prices of Chinese 304 and 316 stainless coil and scrap saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row. The price of Chinese primary nickel held steady last Friday as well.
