Sir John Templeton would often say, "Buy at the point of maximum pessimism." I began the year by highlighting the worst-performing assets over the last 3-years -- The dogs of the past three years.
The graphic above reflects the worst performing assets during that three-year time frame.
Not So Bad
Six weeks DOES NOT make a year. So far, though, some of the dogs of the past three years are doing rather well in the first 6 weeks of 2014. One of my goals is to find those hard-hit assets that are out of favor and creating bullish patterns.
