Today's write-up features research reports on 16 stocks, including Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL), Chevron (NYSE:CVX) and Altria (MO).

Goolge's parent Alphabet shares have received a boost from the from the search giant's strong June-quarter results where it not only beat on the top- and bottom-lines but also came out with 43.1% growth in earnings on 22.1% top-line gains. The analyst feels its search market share is a big positive, which along with its focus on innovation, strategic acquisitions and Android OS should continue to generate strong cash flows. The reecent introduction of Springboard, a new A.I. based digital assistance tool Springboard that can search across Google Apps like Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Drives and Contacts for particular information or documents, should further cement status. Chevron shares have pulled back in solidarity with the recent weakness in oil prices and it's June-quarter earnings report didn't help matters either. But this oil super major offers an attractive risk-reward trade-off for those who can stomache the commodity's near-term volatility and can hold on to the stock beyond the next 6 to 12 months. Chevron's attractive dividend, which remains totally safe, should be a decent reward in the meantime. (You can read the full research report on CVX here>>)

Altria shares have weakened a bit following the company's mixed Q2 results. But the stock has been a strong performer this year, up more than 16% year-to-date, on the back of its safe and attractive dividend and track record of share buybacks. Altria not only owns leading premium brands in the core tobacco category, but has also been actively pursuing several non combustible tobacco products in response to changing consumer tastes. The analyst discusses the pros & cons of investing Altria shares in the research report. (You can read the full research report on MO here>>)

Other noteworthy reports we are featuring today include Sanofi (PA:SASY) (SNY), BP (LON:BP) and Twitter (TWTR).
