The markets had a very volatile session on Wednesday, the FOMC announcement regarding rates, one minute it’s up, the next it was down, with a mixed close. There’s a lot of stocks that we follow here that are doing well. A couple of them had a real big day on Wednesday. Let's take a look at them.
Globant SA (NYSE:GLOB) broke out twice since late April, pulled back in a multi-week falling wedge to the trendline, popped to resistance, backed off, and was up 2.44 to 26.01, or 10.3%, on 235,200 shares traded. The volume was low, although it was big for this stock. It broke out across the double top on Wednesday, and the next target for GLOB is 31.
Opko Health Inc (NYSE:OPK) continues to look great. It has stair-stepped its way higher 8 consecutive days, punching through resistance level at mid-channel. On Wednesday, it was up 67 cents to 18.02, or nearly 4%, on 5.1 million shares. Going forward the targets are 20, and then 22.
Seattle Genetics Inc (NASDAQ:SGEN) hasn’t done anything for a long time, but it started to move, forming a left shoulder-head-right shoulder, an inverse head-and-shoulders, then it broke out, and on Wednesday, it was up 1.76 to 42.99, or 4.2%, on 1.6 million shares. If it continues upward, the targets are 45, and then 49 1/2 going forward.
Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:TTPH) had an excellent day on Wednesday, up 4.84 to 45.33, or 12%, on 1.3 million shares. It broke out of a key-congestion range, which it’s been in since late December. It consolidated after a huge run-up from the 8 range all the way up to the 40’s, which is an indication that it wants to go higher. The swing target is in the 60-65 range.
