In this interview, SDL’s CEO, Adolfo Hernandez, articulates his vision of how SDL will look once the current transformation program is complete. He discusses the different elements of the program, which include technology innovation, investing in premium solutions for vertical markets and the organisational structure. He also describes the different stages of the transformation cycle, where SDL is on this cycle and when he expects these changes to start coming though in the financial performance of the business.
SDL is a global software and services company, which provides solutions for corporates to create, maintain and distribute multilingual content. The company is in the middle of a root-and-branch transformation program, involving significant investment into technology, as well as changes to the operational structure and go-to market strategy. The aim is to put in place a best-in-class technology platform, processes and services to become the leader in content management, translation and delivery, while driving growth and operational scalability in the business. The company completed the acquisition of Donnelley Language Solutions for US$777.5m in July 2018, subsequent to the recording of this interview.
