The euro rose slightly against the U.S. dollar on Wednesday as Greece was given a deadline until the end of this week to deliver a proposal.
“The final deadline ends this week,” European Council President Donald Tusk said.
Eurogroup finance ministers will meet on Saturday, while European Union leaders will meet on Sunday to decide Greece’s fate,
The ECB would provide Greek banks with the minimum liquidity needed at the meantime, where it would decide in a conference call today whether to keep the assistance until Sunday.
The EUR/USD rose to trade around 1.1045, after falling to a low of 1.0915, noting that the session’s high was recorded at 1.1057.
For today, the U.S. lacks economic data but tomorrow eyes will track unemployment claims for last week.
