If we discount today's brent price with the USD-inflation of the last four years (~21%) than we see it trades about at the same level as before covid, like around $66-70, perhaps slightly higher ("war premium").

Yepp, tell me about it. Inventories right now are higher than during 2020 - during covid period even if demand then was non-existent

This rubbish is the real speculation... there is oil for more than 1000 years, the excess in warehouses and high seas on boats not reported are hundreds of millions of barrels!! Russia is selling for half on the parallel market...

GM, been estimating it for about a week now, not as convinced anymore, so would keep a very tight SL.

I am still holding my shorts, I believe 80s should still happen. In a best case scenario down to previous low or new lows. However, despite all the bearish data this week the price is holding firmly, which makes me think something fishy is going on. Its still a battle between bulls and bears + friday, so today will most probably be the day that the direction is decided for the following sessions/week. Weekly candle that is shaping is bullish. Until anything changes we will be rangebound between 81.50 - 82.70

Peak oil demand is not on the horizon, OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais said on Thursday, blasting the International Energy Agency’s prediction that global oil demand will peak before 2030.   Some net-zero scenarios suggest that oil should not be part of a sustainable energy future, Al Ghais wrote in a column for EA Forum. “This narrative was repeated only yesterday when the IEA published its Oil 2024 report in which it once again stated that oil demand would peak before 2030,” he said. Stories continues....

I wouldn't buy Brent futures at this point. I will be moving sideways as it looks like. Rather buy BP plc stock, it is at a 52 weeks low, key support zone.

Guess this is as good as a closing could get for a bear, but was hoping for something more than a spinning top/inverted cross doji. https://www.tradingview.com/x/FD2ORm9S/ If we do not go down properly tomorrow I will review my short positions entirely. GN all!

Honestly, I don’t care where does it go, as long as I am able to get 1-4 dollars scalp per day. True sometimes it doesn’t move at all, but sometimes this up and down is good :))

agree. sometimes prefer to scalp too. most often my most sucessful trades are during short term, but I am unable to do so sometimes during my busy work days and sometimes i regreat closing to early - sometimes not. I am practicing patience with this short trade :D
