they kept rates artificially low by buying bonds with the currency printing, they did this in order to keep the interest rate on the debt low, they are still doing this, lawmakers are begging them to lower rates cuz they know the debt is eating their budget up to spend on themselves with your money, yup your tax dollars paid are allowing them to pull this mess off... it's a crash if they don't keep it going... they must print another 7 trillion over the next few years or it is a full on collapse 90% down... think this is a joke? it's not
