It’s hard to find a child playing with anything other than their parent’s iPad or iPhone these days. When we were kids, though, toys were the name of the game. From dolls and action figures to board games and video games, the toy industry was booming. Nowadays, however, the kids who played with G.I. Joes and Barbies are all grown up and have money of their own–which is where toy collectors come in.
The value in toy collecting comes entirely from nostalgia, which is why collectors from all over the world will pay a pretty penny for the contents of the dusty old toy boxes in our attics. Some of us might have kept hold of these childhood treasures simply because we couldn’t let go of the memories of our youths. Little did we know back then that we were actually investing in our futures when we begged our parents for the latest toy.
