It’s said that the average American is exposed to anywhere between 4,000 and 10,000 advertisements in one day. While some are billboards or flyers, others are much more obvious. We’re talking about the wonderful world of infomercials. Some of the products we see on TV seem completely ludicrous and destined to fail – but what about those that aren’t?

In between all the poorly conceived inventions are some truly astonishing products that you may have never noticed. In fact, some of them are so impressive that they’re widely available in stores like Walmart. Lay aside your judgment and give these products 30 seconds of your time – as it turns out, they might be worth it!

2. HoodiePillow

Brand: HoodiePillow
What is it: Travel pillow with built-in hood
Price: $29.95*

Seeing the world is a wonderful way to expand your horizons, but there’s only one catch. The actual traveling isn’t always that fun. It often involves cramped economy flights, uncomfortable seats, and trying to catch forty winks at midday during a transfer. We’ve all seen travel neck pillows before, but have you seen the HoodiePillow?

Not only are the pillows themselves memory foam allowing users to experience maximum comfort, but they come with a built-in hoodie. That way, you can protect yourself from sensory overload by pulling it over your head. You won’t get that from an eBay $1 sleep mask.

3. DeShedding Glove

Brand: TrueTouch
What is it: Pet grooming glove
Price: $5*

Man’s preoccupation with animals goes back centuries, but as much as we love our four-legged friends there’s one thing we have yet to master: all that pesky hair. Some breeds of cats and dogs need a little more grooming than others, but it can be a messy business. Thankfully, TrueTouch stepped in with an answer.

Grilling meat is almost like a traditional pastime. Whether you only do it once a year in the summer months or you’re an avid grill chef, it’s likely that you know the pain of cleaning the grill all too well. Cat owners across the globe can agree that cleaning out the litter box isn’t the best part about owning a feline. For those that don’t want to do either, there’s Sift Away.

7. Power Air Fryer

If there’s one product that has been advertised more on TV than any other, we would go out on a limb and say it’s this one. Air fryers in their different guises have been popular infomercial products for years, but this one, in particular, is meant to be pretty decent.

This device is a bag that attaches to your dog’s rear, ready to catch whatever falls out of it.

It might look strange, but actually, it’s kind of genius. That being said, the product has yet to really take off, which might have something to do with the price. After all, $30-$40 is a fair amount of money for a bag that sticks to a pooch’s derriere.

12. Bacon Bonanza

Brand: Gothic Steel
What is it: A bacon cooking tray
Price: $35*

There’s more than one way to skin a cat and there’s more than one way to cook bacon! While most of us might throw slices into a frying pan or shove them in the oven, we might be missing a trick. Gothic Steel’s Bacon Bonanza is just as exciting as its name, according to happy customers.

The strips of bacon go into the rack which keeps it away from the grease at the bottom of the pan. This allows for much healthier, lower-fat strips of deliciousness. What’s more, it can hold up to 12 slices of bacon, so everyone gets a taste.

13. PetVac

For long-haired cats and dogs, this could be a heaven-sent product. That’s not to say that your pet will be entirely thrilled, but at the end of the day, less time spent cleaning means more time spent playing, right? Everyone’s a winner if you don’t mind spending about $30.

14. Ramen Cooker

Brand: Rapid Ramen
