Cappasity Improves Retailer ROI With Interactive 3D Reality Product Displays

How do you choose from the hundreds of similar product images of phone car mounts—a number one selling product on Amazon? Buying the wrong phone car mount may seem like a trivial inconvenience when, in reality, it can be a life and death decision. If your phone is placed at the wrong angle, it could require you to take your eyes off the road. Ten percent of fatal car crashes are caused by such distraction-affected events, and many of these events involve smartphones.

Most phone car mounts are sold online and presented by 2D images. Unlike your old car mount, which you bought after playing with the store demo, you can only imagine the ergonomics of your car’s new tech gadget. Alas, your new mount has now become part of the 10 percent product returns statistic, the majority being due to the wrong product or size

One can easily understand why good pics sell products on e-commerce sites, but even the best product photography cannot recreate the real life ergonomics of your car dashboard. A 3D representation created through artificial reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can. Fully immersive, 3D virtual reality is the future of product marketing, and that future is here in 2018. You can now spin, zoom and take your new phone car mount for a virtual test ride.

A 3D Reality Accelerator

A drawback of current AR/VR/3D technology is the high investment and time required to create a product. Even then, digital pirates often snatch revenues from the hands of the creator. To address this drawback, Cappasity, a 3D technology platform, developed Easy 3D Scan software, and in doing so helped create the 3D reality revolution. This software generates 3D models in 2 to 3 minutes creating 3D images that have become popular in the high fashion world. With the customers’ ability to immerse themselves in the product, retailers have realized an increase of 10 to 40% in conversions and a decline in the number of product returns and inquiries.

Cappasity’s new platform is accelerating the adoption of 3D interactive images by providing a decentralized ecosystem for developers, buyers and sellers that overcomes the barriers of ownership, high costs, and long development time. With the 3D development tools now in the market, creators are in need of a platform to produce and market 3D products. In 2017, both Apple and Microsoft introduced new developer tools to bring virtual reality and augmented technology reality to their applications. Amazon, Facebook and other e-commerce giants are offering tools to present immersive product displays on their websites. In 2018 and beyond, the products with the best 3D imaging presentations will rule online commerce.

Secure 3D Content Copyrights

Cappasity has developed a cloud-based platform to allow the creators and users of 3D images to collaborate and share. The blockchain-powered platform provides 3D product developers with an important function that has eluded the market until now—enforceable 3D digital copyrights. Since watermarks are not possible on 3D products, in the Cappasity ecosystem each product is signed with an ID or hash that ensures copyright and prevents copyright infringement. The copyright hash is encrypted in each smart contract transaction, which is irreversible and unchangeable.

The copyright advantages alone are a significant incentive for content creators and users to transact within the Cappasity ecosystem. Other features include an API that enables 3D products to synchronize across product catalogues and e-commerce platforms. 3D products produced on the Cappasity platform are already being listed on Shopify, BigCommerce and other e-commerce websites. The platform keeps track of what is being created in AR/VR/3D technology on heat maps to show ecosystem members which products are hot and in what markets.

Cappasity currently receives over 700,000 views per month from shoppers seeking a more immersive product experience. But the potential uses go far beyond 3D gaming and e-commerce. The company has started its expansion into other verticals.

Peter Drake, Dean of Academic Affairs at the New York Academy of Art, noted, “The New York Academy of Art was the first school to assess Cappasity, and we shared its capabilities with our sculpture students and faculty. The creation of an easy-to-use digitization platform for 3D artworks has allowed New York Academy of Art sculptors and mixed-media artists to accurately and beautifully showcase their work like never before. We expect Cappasity to become the ‘industry standard’ for art schools’ websites in the next few years, and we’re honored to be able to pioneer the program.” Cappasity’s $4 mln innovation fund will support developers creating AR/VR/3D products.

Join the 3D Reality Revolution

To participate in this platform, you need the Cappasity token (CAPP), which is currently on sale. Once you have obtained Cappasity tokens, you are free to create, rent and sell AR/VR/3D content across the Cappasity ecosystem worldwide. Once part of the system you can earn more tokens by uploading content, acting as a verifier of content, and selling and renting out your 3D creations. The affiliate program pays 5 percent of each transaction by a new member.

The Cappasity ICO runs from February 22 to March 22.

Participants who buy 1000 CAPP in phase 1 and meet minimum purchase requirements in Phase 2 will be eligible for a 7–25 percent Airdrop bonus.
