I sometimes feel irritable too with discussion of gold. It's history is violent and genocidal. As are all desired commodities. Chips and oil alike. We are like baby birds perpetually pushing the other baby birds out of the nest. As a historical currency, valuations of gold fluctuated and empires still collapsed for all the same reasons when civilizations deteriorate. Fiat currency was intended to deliver stability. Crypto currencies, with notably wild fluctuations, are promising the same.
