MORRISTOWN, New Jersey (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday said he did not want the United States to do business with China's Huawei even as the administration weighs whether to extend a grace period for the company.

Reuters and other media outlets reported on Friday that the U.S. Commerce Department is expected to extend a reprieve given to Huawei Technologies Co Ltd that permits the Chinese firm to buy supplies from U.S. companies so that it can service existing customers.

The "temporary general license" will be extended for Huawei for 90 days, Reuters reported, citing two sources familiar with the situation.

On Sunday, Trump told reporters before boarding Air Force One in New Jersey that he did not want to do business with Huawei for national security reasons.

"At this moment it looks much more like we're not going to do business," Trump said. "I don't want to do business at all because it is a national security threat and I really believe that the media has covered it a little bit differently than that."

He said there were small parts of Huawei's business that could be exempted from a broader ban, but that it would be "very complicated." He did not say whether his administration would extend the "temporary general license."

Speaking earlier on Sunday, National Economic Council director Larry Kudlow said the Commerce department would extend the Huawei licensing process for three months as a gesture of "good faith" amid broader trade negotiations with China.

"We're giving a break to our own companies for three months," Kudlow said on NBC's "Meet the Press".

Here comes the Chinese trolls, Stop buying anything made in China. Do not buy anything that is made out of US. If we stop buying anything made in China, US companies will be forced to bring the jobs back to US.
You clearly do not know hiw the world works. The world needs China, there is no way around that. China is on their way to become the biggest economy if the world. Warren Buffet said, China has found their secret sauce.
the world needs China without the communist regime......we love Chinese people but we hate communism, fascism and any sort of undemocratic rule
Now Mr. Gao wants to run Taiwan president. So, he just step down for running it & he is a patriot as Chinese!
Gee...hv some global biz knowledge, okey! iPhones hv always made by Chinese co., actually, Foxconn. The owner run the biggest high-tech manufactory on th planet! Mr. Goa is actully Tsiwanese. Trump, Paul Ryan help groundbreaking of his Foxcann plant in Wisconsin! Tim Cook begged him to switch factories in low-tariff nations, like Vietnam, India...
The more difficult things get for China, the harder the paid trolls here try to be clever with their horrendous English. Nothing but signs of pure panic in their feeble posts. I seriously wonder why they even try. Apparently, they have no idea how silly they come off. China’s future is going to be unpleasant.
I originally thought US has a good system that anyone can be a president, just like a driver in autonomous car. it turns out not the case. need be careful for next election.
Jack, defending his life in an autocratic dictatorship, is here to give free people political advice. That’s some rich stuff there for sure.
even your American iphones are made in china
@Ofentse. We’re also making them in India, and very soon in Vietnam. Soo, what was your point?
That's why we need to stop buying iphone. I stopped buying anything and every thing in China. Hope Trump can force apple buy adding 30% tariff on iphone.  China gets business because of greedy bastards in America who makes money by selling China made things.

Please avoid buying "Made in China" items in America. We must stop buying their cheap products as they only sell their ugly and cheap things to us but they do not want to buy US made items.
Sorry, but look around, 99% is still Made in China. If you don't buy, you will be homeless. lol
Huawei has already mive on. Thry do not care if IS buy their products. From now on, Huawei will rely on their internal products. They already have HongMengOS, 5G chips, will is Samsung memory, what is left to buy from US? This this means US have lots a big business. China is unstoppable, they have cornered Trump and checkmate him without a way out.
She shops at Walmart, therefore she is buying Made in China.
when was the last year you bought something? Maybe 10 years ago? THe US manufacturers moved to China to make money from there. Sory to say that, but  if you don't buy anything from China you will die soon. That is the reality.
. I enjoy seeking out and buying American products. I bought a pair of US made New Balance shoes recently. They’re amazing. Recent accessories for my truck - all American. My US made Levis are really expensive, but worth every penny. My boats, guitars, vintage stereo, fishing rods etc - all American made. I do have an iPhone, but it is American designed. I recently bought a cutlery set, sharpener and a can opener - USA again. My tv was made in Korea. My Dell PCs have some Chinese parts in them I’m sure, but overall, I can’t think of much I own that is not American made. Isn’t that interesting?
