Investing.com — Unity Software Inc (NYSE:U) announced Monday that it has acquired Ziva Dynamics, a machine learning technology company that provides simulation and deformation machine learnings and real-time character creation.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Despite initially falling Monday, Unity's shares bounced back and closed the session 4% above Friday's close.
In a post on its blog, Unity said the Ziva is solving the problem of creating "digital humans" that meet the quality and natural dynamics needed.
Ziva's technology has been used in the game, movie, and television industries, on titles such as Game of Thrones, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Senua's Saga: Hellblade II.
"The Ziva team has deep expertise and understanding of complex anatomical simulation and real-time artistry tools. Their incredible technology is paving the way for lifelike real-time characters and scalable accessible workflows," stated Unity.
Ziva specializes in character faces and models, which Unity said can be a "complicated and a painful effort," to achieve.
