Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Finance & Investment and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.30%, while the ADX General index declined 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which rose 4.35% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) added 2.96% or 0.080 points to end at 2.780 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 1.21% or 0.030 points to 2.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 3.46% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.510 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 2.63% or 0.04 points to end at 1.48 and Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) was down 1.93% or 0.010 points to 0.509.
The top performers on the ADX General were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which rose 2.17% to 4.700, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was up 2.08% to settle at 2.450 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 1.47% to close at 6.90.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 10.00% to 2.880 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 9.70% to settle at 2.14 and Union Cement (AD:UCC) which was down 7.81% to 1.180 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 6 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) rose to all time highs; rising 4.35% or 0.050 to 1.200.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.40% or 0.21 to $53.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.47% or 0.26 to hit $55.84 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1212.25 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.03% to 3.9667.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 99.59.
