Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher while losses in the Transport, Services and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.29%, while the ADX General index fell 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 3.45% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) added 2.50% or 0.014 points to end at 0.574 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was up 1.76% or 0.015 points to 0.869 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which fell 1.98% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.446 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 1.94% or 0.017 points to end at 0.859 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was down 1.80% or 0.020 points to 1.090.
The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 4.17% to 2.00, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was up 3.52% to settle at 2.350 and Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which gained 3.33% to close at 1.240.
The worst performers were Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was down 7.08% to 1.0500 in late trade, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which lost 3.58% to settle at 7.01 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 2.74% to 0.710 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 14 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 9 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.98% or 0.009 to 0.446. Shares in Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.80% or 0.020 to 1.090.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.89% or 0.90 to $48.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.69% or 0.86 to hit $51.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.55 to trade at $1201.05 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.22% to 3.9031.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 101.44.
