Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Finance & Investment and Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.11%, while the ADX General index fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 2.31% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.619 at the close. Meanwhile, Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) added 1.74% or 2.00 points to end at 117.00 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 1.49% or 0.050 points to 3.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which fell 5.26% or 0.200 points to trade at 3.600 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 2.74% or 0.040 points to end at 1.420 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was down 1.10% or 0.04 points to 3.58.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which rose 6.45% to 0.660, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 3.23% to settle at 1.60 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 2.46% to close at 7.90.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 8.56% to 6.30 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 3.81% to settle at 3.03 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 1.75% to 1.120 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 14 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 rose and 10 declined, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.26% or 0.200 to 3.600. Shares in Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.46% or 0.19 to 7.90.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 4.16% or 1.87 to $43.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.31% or 1.69 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.41% or 4.50 to trade at $1108.60 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.38% to 4.0631.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.14.
