Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Transport and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Finance & Investment and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.51%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Oman Insurance Company P.S.C. (DU:OIC), which rose 14.53% or 0.260 points to trade at 2.050 at the close. Meanwhile, ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) added 2.69% or 0.140 points to end at 5.350 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was up 1.42% or 0.020 points to 1.430 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 4.20% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.140 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 3.07% or 0.050 points to end at 1.580 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was down 2.86% or 0.030 points to 1.020.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which rose 8.43% to 0.900, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 3.70% to settle at 2.800 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 1.35% to close at 11.30.
The worst performers were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 3.48% to 1.1100 in late trade, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which lost 3.23% to settle at 0.600 and Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 3.03% to 1.600 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 15 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 6 advanced, while 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Oman Insurance Company P.S.C. (DU:OIC) rose to 52-week highs; up 14.53% or 0.260 to 2.050.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.63% or 0.30 to $47.96 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.71% or 0.36 to hit $50.82 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.76 to trade at $1255.24 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.15% to 4.0072.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 98.97.
