Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Insurance and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.30%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 8.57% or 0.045 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Meanwhile, SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 3.50% or 0.023 points to end at 0.680 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was up 3.23% or 0.040 points to 1.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC), which fell 4.05% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.37 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 2.24% or 0.011 points to end at 0.479 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was down 2.08% or 0.070 points to 3.300.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 11.11% to 2.90, Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which was up 4.82% to settle at 8.70 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 3.85% to close at 0.540.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 80.81% to 1.33 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 6.82% to settle at 0.410 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 4.44% to 1.29 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 rose and 9 declined, while 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.44% or 0.06 to 1.29.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.57% or 0.70 to $45.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.04% or 0.47 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.31% or 17.00 to trade at $1277.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.13% to 4.1826.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 94.00.
