United Arab Emirates stocks mixed at close of trade; DFM General up 1.00%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Transport sectors led shares higher while losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Insurance sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 1.00%, while the ADX General index fell 0.85%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which rose 5.14% or 3.60 points to trade at 73.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 2.90% or 0.040 points to end at 1.420 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was up 2.63% or 0.200 points to 7.800 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which fell 0.78% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.382 at the close. Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) declined 0.33% or 0.020 points to end at 6.020 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 1.240.

The top performers on the ADX General were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which rose 4.17% to 0.7500, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 2.82% to settle at 0.730 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 2.63% to close at 0.780.

The worst performers were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was down 4.76% to 2.00 in late trade, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which lost 3.23% to settle at 0.600 and Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 2.80% to 2.430 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 26 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 7 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.87% or 1.06 to $57.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.05% or 0.66 to hit $63.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.14 to trade at $1283.84 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED rose 0.10% to 4.3155.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.76.
